Pendragon Castle, Cumbria, England, 2003
This, according to legend, is the site where Uther Pendragon, father of King Arthur, died. The story goes that Uther, also a King, had his capital at nearby Carlisle. Hugh de Morville built the castle around 1173. In 1341 the Scots burnt the castle, but it was rebuilt in 1360 and lived in by the Clifford’s until a fire destroyed it in 1541.
